Event Report (International Salon "Life Guidance & Cultural Experience")

On Saturday, July 26th, the International Salon "Life Guidance & Cultural Experience" was held at Promity Fuchinobe Building.

In the first half of the life guidance session, slides and pamphlets were used to introduce useful information for daily life, such as information on lounges, events held in the city, Japanese language classes, how to dispose of garbage, and disaster prevention, with the help of an interpreter, in order to make life easier for foreign residents in Sagamihara City.

The second half of the event was an introduction to and experience of Japanese culture, and this time everyone danced in a circle to the Bon Odori dance, which has long been an essential part of summer in Japan.

The Bon Odori dance consisted of four songs: Tanko Bushi, Sagamihara Ondo, Beautiful Sunday, and Tokyo Ondo. Everyone danced while watching the two dancers perform around a decoration that resembled a stage. Although it was the first time for most people, they were able to dance by the end of the first song, and everyone had a great time.

International Salon hopes to continue supporting foreign residents and providing various cultural exchanges and information. Thank you to everyone who participated and cooperated. Please look forward to the next event!
