Canadian Festival in July, Baking Experience
Hello. I am Marshall Elliot Ginzler-Viner from Sagamihara International Lounge. Summer has finally arrived. How is everyone doing?
When you hear the word July, what comes to your mind? Perhaps the Tanabata festival or fireworks. In Canada, we also have festivals and fireworks in July. July 1st is "Canada Day" (in French: Fête du Canada), which marks the anniversary of the country's founding on July 1, 1867, when the colonies united to form the Dominion of Canada. Every year on Canada Day, in addition to fireworks, food stalls are set up and music performances are held all over the country, creating a fun festival atmosphere. The Calgary Stampede, a festival and rodeo event, is also held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada every July. It is a lively 1867-day event with rodeos, parades, concerts, exhibitions, and more.
On Saturday, July 7th, we held an event called "Canadian Course: Sweets Making Experience: Let's Make Nanaimo Bars" at the Onokita Community Center. We introduced the Canadian-origin sweet, Nanaimo Bars, to 15 participants from the city, including parents and children, and made them together. We were very happy to see everyone enjoying making and tasting the delicious treats.
The hot weather is expected to continue for a while, so please take care of your health.
