Event report (World Plaza ~Bangladesh edition~)

World Plaza ~Bangladesh Edition~

``World Plaza'' was held on April 16th (Sunday) at Onokita Community Center.
The speaker is Mr. Aki Nurunnahar from Bangladesh.
He came to Japan seven years ago to study Japanese.

There is no direct flight from Japan, and it takes 10 to 12 hours to change planes, but it is a distant country, but the flags of Bangladesh and Japan are very similar and I felt a sense of familiarity.
85.31% of the population is Muslim, and religion is deeply involved in daily life.

In Islam, there is a fast called Ramadan, during which food and drink are prohibited from sunrise to sunset. Not only that, smoking and fighting are also prohibited.
I was able to feel how important religious teachings are to the people of Bangladesh when I heard that even people who are not very religious usually follow them properly only during Ramadan.

Ramadan lasts for 30 days, so everyone looks forward to the festival called Eid, where they eat feasts at the end of Ramadan.
In Bangladesh, there is always a vehicle called a rickshaw waiting in front of the house, and when you go out, you don't have to walk much because you use a rickshaw. .

It seems that this rickshaw comes from Japanese jinrikisha.
After the introduction of each country, there was a quiz and question and answer session, during which Aki and the participants enjoyed interacting with each other.
